Are you interested in giving back to the community, helping people who have experienced the impact of crime and/or tragic circumstance?

Then you can help guide MVS by becoming a member of the Board of Directors. The Board is a group of community-minded volunteers who guide, support, and work in partnership with the Executive Director to provide confidential, respectful, knowledgeable, and compassionate support to people at a time of crisis in their lives.

If you have “lived experience” or skills that can be used to enhance the Board of Directors, then you can help.

The Board of Directors has openings for up to five Directors with terms for one to five years with the opportunity for renewal if necessary. The Board meets a minimum of nine times a year, either in person or virtually. Directors dedicate approximately five to ten hours a month to prepare for meetings and perform various tasks as required.

The Board of Directors are responsible for overseeing the financial health of MVS, ensuring the Executive Director fulfills the role according to the Executive Limitations, and meeting the funding and contractual requirements of the funder, the Ministry of Children and Community and Social Services.
